3D Mammography — Advanced Breast Cancer Detection
Our Hologic 3D digital mammography with C-View and Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) provides the most accurate breast cancer screening available — recommended annually for women 40 and older.
What Is an 3D Mammography?
3D Mammography (breast tomosynthesis) takes multiple X-ray images of the breast from different angles and reconstructs them into a three-dimensional picture. This allows our radiologists to examine breast tissue one thin layer at a time, detecting cancers that may be hidden in traditional 2D mammograms. Our Hologic Dimensions system with C-View technology and Computer-Aided Detection provides exceptional accuracy, especially for women with dense breast tissue.
What Can 3D Mammography Diagnose?
- Breast cancer (early-stage detection)
- Breast calcifications
- Masses and lumps
- Dense breast tissue evaluation
- Screening for women 40+ (annual)
- Diagnostic evaluation of breast symptoms

What to Expect During Your 3D Mammography
Check-In
Complete a brief breast health questionnaire. You'll change into a gown from the waist up.
The Mammogram
A female technologist will position your breast on the imaging platform and apply gentle compression. This lasts only a few seconds per view. The compression helps create clear images and reduces radiation dose.
3D Imaging
The machine takes multiple images as the arm moves in a small arc over your breast. You'll have 2 views per breast, typically. The entire exam takes about 15 minutes.
Results
Your images are reviewed by our radiologist with Computer-Aided Detection. Results are sent to your doctor, and you'll also receive a letter. If anything needs follow-up, we'll contact you promptly.
